The Montego Bay-based entertainer Tommy Lee Sparta delivered a short but commanding performance on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest 2017. The Dancehall artist returned to the show this year after being barred from performing at the event in 2015. The Montego Bay-based entertainer reeled off songs such as “Holding Out The Pressure,” “Spartan Soldier,” “Stacking Up The Paper” and “Buss a Blank” for the very appreciative crowd. He also took a thinly-veiled jab aimed at his nemesis Mavado and Alkaline who performed just before him. “Mi see some bwoy ah try hold out the show,” he said, before going into his “Not A Badness” diss track aimed at Alkaline. Dancehall deejay Masicka will not perform at this year’s Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest because of “contractual issues.” An upset Corey Todd gives Music News the 411 on the saga. Efforts by Music News to get a comment from Aidonia and Reggae Sumfest organizer Josef Reggae Sumfest started on Sunday and will culminate on Saturday, July 22 with the likes of Stephen Marley, Sean Paul, Beenie Man and Sean Kingston Bogdanovich the were futile. Masicka was slated to perform on Friday, July 21 at Catherine Hall Montego Bay where he was expected to share the stage with the likes Bounty Killer, Alkaline, Tory Lanez, Aidonia and Spice among others.

According to RedBull.com, the ‘Unruly Boss,’ is scheduled to make his first US performance on August 25, at 787 Windsor in Atlanta, Georgia for the highly anticipated Redbull Culture Clash. For the second time  reggae artist , Chronixx sits a top the Billboard Reggae Album chart. his much-anticipated debut album Chronology debuts at number one this week. But although a release by Soul Circle Music and distributed by Universal Music's Virgin EMI, Chronology posted disappointing first-week sales of 2,462 copies. In April 2014, Chronixx debuted at number one with the EP, Dread & Terrible. Chronology was released July 7 and contains 16 tracks. They include the hit songs Smile Jamaica and Spanish Town Rocking; Big Bad Sound (featuring his father Chronicle), I Know Love, Majesty, Likes, and Christina. Chronixx went on well-received tours of North America to promote Chronology. He even made an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in February. After battling with kidney disease deejay Niko Chromatic finaly returned to the turntables last Friday but has made it clear that he is stil very ill. Niko Chromatic 'said my heath condition is not 100% per cent,i'm not fully back.I just did the event because it was Chromatic's fist official party and me did affi show support,Niko said.                                                       Niko, who was diagnosed with renal failure in 2015, temporarily took over the controls at the inaugural staging of the Appleton Special Chromatic Live held at Mas Camp. Niko said i'm still on the dialysis machine twice a weeks.I fully understand the sickness a little more and so i try to do things that will keep it under control.I'm yet to do that. Andrae Hugh Sutherland (born 19 July 1988), known professionally as Popcaan, is a Jamaican deejay, singer and songwriter. Many industry insiders have expressed total surprise towards the figure, as the track is arguably at its peak, considering the intense law enforcement scrutiny and media coverage it has received over the last few weeks. According to publicist Keona Williams, while the "After All" video may have been a popular hit locally, it has failed to attract significant international attention, where artists earn the bulk of their royalties from. Demarco has signed a record deal with Akon label

The Dancehall artist Demarco recently signed a three album deal with the major international label that was once the home of major acts such as Lady Gaga, Kardinal Offishall, Colby O’Donis, and Jamaican female duo Brick and Lace. The “Good Book” deejay also revealed that he has signed a management deal with the label’s sister company, En-Treeg Management, which is owned by Akon’s wife Tomeka Thiam and business executive Rozina Negusei. “Demarco is a very talented and creative. He can write, produce and he’s easy to work with. He was introduced to me by Mix master David (popular Jamaican disc jock) who brought him to my house,” said Negusei. The Jamaican superstar is set to release a single with the famed African pop superstar titled “No Whahala,” which also features Runtown. The record label has established intent to put their entire resources behind the talented Jamaican, who the say will be marketed across the world.
